Playing hockey with West Gippsland Hockey Association gives participants the opportunity to select the club according to the night they wish to train.
As all games are held at Bellbird Park, Lampards Road Drouin (Regional Competition only) it is not necessary to drive all over Victoria to play hockey no matter what your age. Games are played on Saturdays during the main winter season.
In 2022, we submitted Metro teams into Hockey Victoria Competitions under the name of Gippsland Strikers (U16, U18, VL2 Women, Masters Men) who play Friday nights, Saturday/Sunday and Monday nights depending on the team. These are our teams playing in a higher competition and are for those players wanting more from their hockey.
Over the summer months (Oct-Dec) there is a Regional Summer competition, and it is open to all hockey players (new/old).
There are many avenues for more ambitious players to play at a more competitive level during the Winter Season, including Junior Country Championships (JCC), Junior State Championships (JSC) and Senior Country Championships (SCC).
There is also Gippsland Championships at, or around, the end of the Winter Season.
